Quarter Horses

The Goodrich Place has a small band of performance bred horses. These horses are bred to have uncanny cow sense, extreme athletic skills, but also have the ability to withstand the day to day adversities of a working cattle ranch. Our horses need to be real world survivors being raised in a working cattle ranch environment where there is not a lot of time to pamper. These horses must perform in all aspects of our operation. Early in our breeding program, we were drawn to the very athletic show pen type of performance horses, but soon realized that in a true working cattle situation, some of these genetics didn’t withstand the rigors and challenges of the daily tasks. Our breeding program has evolved into selecting for that great athlete that has a bigger foot, is somewhat heavier boned, and has an extremely forgiving attitude.

Our horses have been bred for generations to be great working cattle horses.
